The Ajax HUB:
A Community Space for Support and Connection
Open Daily 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM
The Ajax HUB is a vital resource for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, or financial hardship. Through strong community partnerships, we provide drop-in services and essential support—including meal programs, hygiene facilities, income assistance, addictions counselling, medical care, settlement services, and housing navigation.
As a Community Access Point for the Region of Durham’s Coordinated Access System, we help individuals experiencing homelessness access the By-Name List, ensuring they receive the right support based on their needs.
Newcomer Supports at The Ajax HUB
Through strong partnerships, we connect newcomers with specialized support services, including settlement assistance through Community Development Council Durham (CDCD)’s Welcome Centre. Once eligible for the Region of Durham’s motel program, we assist with transportation and next steps, helping newcomers transition into longer-term support systems.

CAMP VISION:
Camp Vision is a fun and exciting S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) day camp for children 4 to 11 years old. This program is offered at a low cost to ensure our community members have access to affordable childcare during the summer months.
Peer Support Program:
At Doors of Compassion, we believe in the power of lived experience. Our Peer Support Program connects patrons with trained peer supporters—individuals who have firsthand experience navigating homelessness, addiction, or mental health challenges. Through shared understanding, mentorship, and encouragement, our peer supporters provide emotional support, resource navigation, and guidance on the journey toward stability and independence. This program fosters trust, empowerment, and community, ensuring that no one has to walk their path alone.
HARRT Program:
The Housing Attainment, Relations, and Retention Team (HARRT) is dedicated to helping individuals transition from homelessness to housing—and stay housed. HARRT provides housing-focused case management, connecting clients with essential resources such as rental assistance, landlord mediation, and life skills support. Our team works alongside clients to create personalized housing plans, address barriers to stability, and offer ongoing support after move-in. By focusing on long-term success, HARRT helps break the cycle of homelessness and build brighter futures.
“My favorite thing about this place is that everyone is welcome.”
