Our History

A Legacy of Compassion and Growth

Founded in 1988, Christian Faith Outreach Centre (CFOC) became a registered nonprofit on December 7, 1988, rooted in a mission to support individuals facing hardship. In response to growing community needs, Doors of Compassion was born, evolving into a vital network of emergency shelters, housing-focused services, and community support.

From opening our first Winter Warming Centre in 2019 to expanding into permanent shelter spaces, advocacy teams, and a dedicated HUB, our commitment has remained the same: providing compassionate, person-centered support to those experiencing homelessness. Today, with three shelter locations, a Housing Retention Team, and a growing Peer Support Program, we continue to build innovative solutions that empower individuals, break down barriers, and create lasting change in our community.
